Sponsor the Peter Benchley Ocean Awards™

Partnering with the Peter Benchley Ocean Awards offers a unique opportunity to meet with exceptional awardees both past and present, connect with leaders in ocean conservation, enhance your brand’s visibility, and celebrate with the ocean community!

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the movie release of Jaws, the Peter Benchley Ocean Awards will return annually, celebrating with its first gala on May 8, 2025 at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD in partnership with the Aquarium Conservation Partnership (ACP). The Peter Benchley Ocean Awards is the world’s preeminent ocean honors. Created to honor the marine community’s most important and influential ocean figures, the Peter Benchley Ocean Awards shines a spotlight on individuals who take action to protect our ocean and the communities that depend on them.

“The efforts of individuals who have committed their lives to researching, protecting, and restoring our oceans too often go unrecognized.” - Peter Benchley

Often referred to as the “Academy Awards” for the ocean, the Benchley Awards recognizes ocean excellence across a broad array of expertise: national stewardship, science, policy, media, solutions, exploration, grassroots heroes, youth, and lifetime achievement. The Benchley Awards events provide a unique blend of visibility and convening power. By sponsoring the Awards, you will have an opportunity to meet our exceptional awardees past and present, gather with the ocean community in celebration of the awardees, and support the work that aquariums are doing across the country to protect ocean ecosystems and wildlife, combat climate change, advance equity and ocean justice, reduce the sources of plastic pollution, and promote sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.
